Don't Be a DICK!

Welcome to the Marvel Champions Universe, our version of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Before we get to far into about our site, premise, community, or the game, let us steal a moment to state the following. It is our intention to run as fair, honest, and transparent a game as possible. We expect our members to behave themselves like adults, we don't expect that everyone will like everyone else, but we do expect that everyone will treat each other with kindness and respect and keep ALL personal drama where it belongs - between themselves, and not involve others (we aren't you parents - if you can't go get along, go elsewhere. If you are the type to say, if they don't go, I will, you will go. Behave. Act like an adult. Take responsibility for your actions. Resolve conflict. End of story.

Below you will find some simple, hard-and-fast rules for membership in the Marvel Champions Universe.

  1. Join Our Discord: We ask that all members join our Discord. While we post all announcements and updates on our forum, we use Discord as our primary form of communication.
  2. DON'T BE A JERK: MCu makes every reasonable effort to foster an open, inclusive, welcoming environment for mature adults. It is expected that all members will make every effort to help maintain this environment by being respectful of one another and acting in good faith.
  3. IF YOU'RE WRONG, APOLOGIZE: Everyone makes mistakes, and this is something we can all agree upon. If you make a mistake, intentionally or unintentionally, apologize for it, own it, and do what you can to rectify the situation if possible. You will earn more respect for owning your mistakes than for refusing to acknowledge them.
  4. DON'T HOLD A GRUDGE: If someone apologizes, accept it and move on. As stated above, everyone makes mistakes. If someone apologizes for a mistake, please accept it and let the issue go. Holding onto a grudge over an unintended slight benefits no one. MCu is a space for adults to have fun, and part of being an adult is knowing how to resolve differences. If you are incapable of this, then MCu is not the place for you.
  5. CONSIDER YOUR TONE: Sarcasm should be kept off the public Discord, as it typically does not translate well in text-based communications.
  6. TRUST OTHERS: Give people the benefit of the doubt. Most people are not trying to offend or upset you. If someone says or does something that bothers you, take a moment to reflect. Ask yourself if you might be overreacting. If you feel justified in your beliefs, reach out to that person first (not the staff) via private Discord direct message (D/DM/DDM) and work to resolve the perceived slight in a respectful, adult manner. If you do not attempt this, do not ask staff to intervene, as we will request to see the communication logs regarding your attempts at resolution before considering any action. Failure to follow this policy will result in staff choosing not to investigate the issue.
  7. IN SUMMARY - DON'T BE A JERK: At Marvel Champions, we believe in fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all members. Being respectful and considerate towards others is essential to maintaining a friendly community. This includes being accountable for your actions and recognizing that everyone has different perspectives. It’s important to express your feelings without expecting others to change their behavior simply to accommodate you. Instead, focus on supporting one another, celebrating successes, and addressing disagreements constructively. Remember, everyone is here to enjoy themselves and contribute to a vibrant roleplay experience. For more on this philosophy, check out Wil Wheaton's Law: Don't Be a Dick.

Marvel Champions, our goal is to redefine what a premium roleplay experience not only can be, but should be.

*   And remember the old idiom: Mean people suck. Nice people swallow.
