Marvel Champions is a no-code site unlike others you may have tried in the past. You needn’t know a single line of HTML or CSS to create an elegant post or a beautiful character app. Thanks to our site’s proprietary system, all the coding is done for you—from making a character to creating a thread or writing a reply. Everything, including images, will be styled for you down to the finest detail, allowing you to focus on the reason you’re theoretically here: to roleplay. You shouldn’t have to know how to "code" to enjoy roleplaying.
Currently, MCu allows for both original characters (OCs) of your own creation and adaptations of characters from the Marvel canon (FCs). However, there is one caveat: villains are not permitted at this time. They can be checked out from the character Rolodex for approved storylines, but you should talk to an admin regarding such stories and character check-outs.
When you create a character, you’ll find we have developed a guided system with many helpful features to assist you in quickly crafting a character rich in detail, without the need to spend months researching. As long as the character remains faithful to the spirit of the original and could easily fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe without requiring changes to pre-existing characters or events, you’ll be set.
We are OC-friendly, with no limits on the number of OCs you can create, provided they adhere to our guidelines. Your first OC should not be of epic proportions or abilities, as it sets the stage for your first experiences and our interactions. Very few powers are restricted; if that means we have a multitude of telepaths, so be it—as long as each one feels unique and original. An OC should not read like a better version of Wolverine or Rogue. OCs can have connections to other characters, including Featured Characters. If the FC linked to an OC is currently in play, both the staff and the member handling the FC must give their prior consent before character creation can begin.
In addition to the restrictions regarding villains, certain FCs are limited for various reasons, including absurdity, complexity, and challenges in character adaptation.
