Although skills, powers, and personality traits go a long way in differentiating a character, some characters possess unique qualities that aren't easily quantified by such traits. To represent these qualities, you can use Merits (character advantages) and Flaws (disadvantages), which represent various shortcomings or difficult circumstances that may have plagued the character in the past and could continue to affect them in the present. Let's Dive On In
Merits are divided into several categories: Combat, Defensive, Detection, Faith, Magic, Mental, Power, Physical, Restricted, Social, Supernatural, and Other. Each category describes a specific shortcoming a character might have.
