Your Finer Points

Although skills, powers, and personality traits go a long way in differentiating a character, some characters possess unique qualities that aren't easily quantified by such traits. To represent these qualities, you can use Merits (character advantages) and Flaws (disadvantages), which represent various shortcomings or difficult circumstances that may have plagued the character in the past and could continue to affect them in the present.

Merits are divided into several categories: Combat, Defensive, Detection, Faith, Magic, Mental, Power, Physical, Restricted, Social, Supernatural, and Other. Each category describes a specific shortcoming a character might have.

Below is a list of 25 descriptions (and counting) that you can draw upon to help flesh out your character(s). If you are currently logged into MCu, the descriptions will be personalized based on your user profile. If you have a character in progress, the descriptions will customize themselves to your character, and a button with your character’s name will appear. Mental equipment focuses on enhancing or protecting the mind. This category includes items like psychic amplifiers, telepathic communicators, or artifacts that shield against mental intrusion or manipulation.
Clear Sighted: XXXcodenameXXX is not easily fooled or mislead by illusions.
Concentration: XXXcodenameXXX possesses a lesser form of Iron Will, one which lets XXXhimXXX focusing his attention and receives a column shift to resist mental invasions or attempted acts of mental control.
Eidetic Memory: XXXcodenameXXX possesses a powerful natural, near photographic mnemonic recall of events and can recall an image from memory with high precision for a brief period after seeing it only once, and without using a mnemonic device.
Iron Will: XXXcodenameXXX will is XXXhisXXX own and as such can not be dominated except by the most powerful of minds and personalities.
Ligntining Calculator: XXXcodenameXXX has a natural affinity for numbers and can do complex computations with ease in their head.
Time Sense: XXXcodenameXXX posssesses a keen, inate sense of time, and can with a good deal of accuracy tell what time it is without a watch.

Physical equipment includes gear that directly impacts the user’s body or physical capabilities, such as strength-enhancing potions, athletic gear, or prosthetics that allow the user to perform beyond their natural limits.
Ambidexterous: XXXcodenameXXX has equal facility with either hand. XXXHeXXX never suffers a penalty when using either hand in performing an action or task as XXXcodenameXXX has no "off-hand." XXXHeXXX can use both hands at once to perform two similiar physical actions without without requiring significant concentration on the tasks at hand.
Catlike Balance: XXXcodenameXXX possesses an innately perfect sense of balance, allowing them to easily cross narrow spaces such as the top of banner or even walk a tight-rope.
Daredevil: Fortune favors the bold — and XXXcodenameXXX is certainly bold. In dangerous and risky situations, XXXHeXXX performs like a true action hero. Any time XXXHeXXX takes a significantly risky action, like leaping across rooftops in a hail of gunfire or diving between two burning, colliding cars, XXXhisXXX chances of success are greater than average due to XXXHISXXX steely nerve.
Large Size: XXXcodenameXXX is abnormally large in size, possibly over seven feet tall and 400 pounds in weight (or more). XXXHeXXX therefore has a more hearty constition, and can suffer more harm before being incapacitated.

Pain Tolerance: XXXcodenameXXX might be made of steel, or just hopped up on drugs (although you should also take the Addiction Flaw if such is the case), but whatever the cause, XXXHeXXX doesn't hurt no matter how wounded he is. You ignore all wound penalties until your character is finally killed

Social equipment enhances interpersonal interactions, such as charm amulets, masks of persuasion, or enchanted clothing that makes the wearer more charismatic or influential in social situations.
Animal Affinity : XXXcodenameXXX has an innate understanding of and rapport with a certain type of animal.
Animal Magnetism: XXXcodenameXXX are especially attractive to others.
Code of Honor: XXXcodenameXXX follows a strict personal code
Gall: If there is one thing XXXcodenameXXX has, it's moxy. XXXcodenameXXX is naturally brazen, bold, and very self-assured, so much so that they can seem impudent or insolent at times, but make no doubt, XXXcodenameXXX is not easily intimidate and XXXheXXX knows how to stand up for what XXXheXXX believes in.
Loyalty: XXXcodenameXXX is a naturally devoted person and can be counted on by anyone who has gained your trust, be it a person, group, or cause. Those who might try to dissuade you will find it difficult to do so if it conflicts with the object of loyalty.
Moneyed: If XXXcodenameXXX is one thing, it's wealth. If it's true that everything has a price, then XXXcodenameXXX has the money to prove it. As such XXXheXXX possesses a great many means and affluence.
Self-Confident: XXXcodenameXXX posssesses a great confidence in their personal skills and abilities.

Supernatural items come from otherworldly realms or forces beyond normal understanding. These can include cursed artifacts, vampiric fangs, or ghostly chains that allow the user to tap into powers beyond mortal reach.
Charmed Existence: Somebody upstairs, or down "there" likes XXXcodenameXXX, as such, XXXheXXX lives a charmed existence. As such things have a way of working out for XXXhimXXX in the end.

Either member of the link can block the other if they wish, though doing so requires some concentration. XXXHeXXX can use this ability to sense a state of the person XXXheXXX is like with, and even where they are to some degree.
