Waiting for results can kill a story or a site. Imagine if results could be given spontaneously. That’s the promise of an Automated Conflict Resolution system. Rearrange the words a little, and you get a C.A.R. (Conflict Automated Resolution). Like a car, if it’s well-fueled, it can go fast because we’ve removed the speed bumps—those long periods of waiting for mods and admins to provide results. This is what we’re working on.

NOTES AND THOUGHTS: Currently, we’ve settled on a system of character stats: Body, Mind, and Fate.

• Body represents a character’s physicality.
• Mind represents a character’s mentality.
• Fate represents a character’s more abstract qualities.


FATE: Power, Luck, Health, and Fighting. BODY: Strength, Speed, Durability, and Agility. MIND: Willpower, Reason, Psyche, and Intuition.

We are currently developing an automatic resolution system that will draw on your character's stats and take various factors into account, helping to create a level playing field based on character attributes and environmental circumstances. Some possible outcomes include:

• Contested action (resisted)
• Improbable bad/good happening
• Probable good/bad happening
• Overbear — when one character is three times stronger than the opposing character
